Maungdaw — Two girls were killed and a few other people arrested when the Myanmar Border Guard Police (BGP) opened fire at a Rohingya boat off the coast of 'Feran Furu (Mingalar Gyi)' village in northern Maungdaw at around 8 pm on Thursday (Sept 27).
The two girls got drown and died as they along with others were trying to escape for life after the BGP opened fire while boarding on the Rowboat to flee to Bangladesh. They have been identified as 'Athisa, 9, daughter of Noor Kalam' from 'Shiddar Fara (Myoma Kayindan)' village and 'Senuwara, 17, daughter of Fayaz Ahmed' from 'Shujah (Shwe Zar)' village.
After they died, the BGP sent their bodies to the Maungdaw General Hospital for examination and post-mortem. The hospital discharged the bodies at around 4 pm on Friday and handed over to the villagers of 'Shiddar Fara' for funeral and burial.
The other Rohingyas arrested while trying to flee by the boat were charged by the authorities and produced before the Maungdaw Township Court on Friday.
As the Myanmar government has imposed severe restrictions on the movement of the Rohingya people and confined them within some designated regions, they are unable to travel to Akyab (Sittwe) or the Capital Rangoon even in the cases of medical emergencies. Therefore, they have no other way left but to seek to sneak out to Bangladesh (illegally) for medical treatments, according to a local resident of Maungdaw.
"The people that usually use this route to go to Bangladesh include the families whose breadwinners have been arbitrarily arrested and jailed by the Myanmar authorities; the Rohingya families whose houses have been burnt down and have to seek shelter in neighbouring villages in displaced condition for a long time; and those who have to seek emergency medical treatments in Bangladesh. They have no other way left but to choose to secretly sneak out to Bangladesh through this route," said villager of Feran Furu.

Buthidaung — A body of a Rohingya teenage boy with slit throat was found close to a small river nearby 'Kyauk Phyu Taung' village Buthidaung Township on Monday (Sept 24) early morning.
The dead boy has been identified as 18-year-old Mohammed Hussain from the said village. He was believed to have been killed by two Rakhine Buddhist extremists with whom he had gone along to a mechnical workshop earlier at night.
"Around 9:15 pm on September 23, two Rakhines were on frog and crab hunting in the village of Kyauk Phyu Taung. Then, they came to the small grocery shop of 'Mohammed Hussain, 18, s/o Abdur Rahman alias Naagu' where they usually buy things from. As they were leaving the shop after buying cigarettes and chewing betels, their motorcycle broke down and sought help from the shop-owner, Mohammed Hussain, in order to help them find a mechanical workshop in the village (to repair the motorcycle). And so, Mohammed Hussain handed the shop over to his father and younger brother and went along with the two Rakhine men. When it was late night, thinking he would come back soon, his father and brother left for home for sleep.
"In the morning, at around 5 am on Sept 24, the same two Rakhine men reported to the village administration that they found a dead body lying nearby a creek. When the village administrator and some villagers went to see it, they found it was the dead body of Mohammed Hussain who had earlier at night gone with them (the Rakhine men)" explained a villager of 'Kyauk Phyu Taung' to RB News.
After the dead body was found, the village administrator reported to the nearest military battalion 378, who in turn reported to the BGP (Border Guard Police) Station based in 'Taung Bazaar', northern Buthidaung. The BGP sent the body to hospital for post mortem and the hospital discharged body in the afternoon. The body subsequently given funeral at around 4:30 pm.
The Rakhine men are said to be currently detained in the BGP Camp of No. 3 Commandment Area for investigations.
"The Rakhine residents from Quarter (4) and Quarter (5) in the downtown of Buthidaung often encroach into the house premises of local Rohingyas in the downtown and surrounding villages late at night under the pretext of frog gigging; and steal properties and belongings from the houses.
"They carry lethal weapons such as Daggers Swords and Spears with them and encroach into the premises of the Rohingya residences in the Curfew hours at night. Though the authorities are well aware of it, they don't take any action," said a local Rohingya resident of the downtown of Buthidaung.

Buthidaung — The Myanmar government is planning to house forcibly displaced Rohingya villagers of 'Gudar Pyin' in internment-camps-like houses, villagers say.
'Gudar Pyin' or 'Gudam Fara' as called locally is a Rohingya village in Buthidaung Township that came under brutal attacks of the Myanmar armed forces and the Rakhine extremists in late August 2017. They massacred hundreds of the Rohingya villagers and burned down about 200 homes forcibly displacing them and making them homeless.
While many families from the village have fled to Bangladesh for lives, others have remained in the country by seeking refuge in neighboring villages. Nine months after the violence, in late May 2018, of the families seeking refuge in the neighboring villages, some about 77 (76, according to the Government) households/families returned to their burnt home grounds at 'Ywa Gyi' hamlet and 'South' hamlet of 'Gudar Pyin' and pitched tents for them to live in.
A week after that, a joint team of officials from different administrative departments and armed forces arrived at the village and prevented the villagers from erecting the (self-made) shelters. A villager recounted how the Myanmar authorities threatened them "you can't pitch tents here without permission. If you do so, you will be punished severely."
On Tuesday (Sept 18) afternoon, a tasked team of ten government officials from Buthidaung Township General Administration Department, Land Records Department and the Department of Municipality arrived at 'Gudar Pyin' village and allotted a small area of land to build small barrack-style houses for the 77 forcibly displaced families under 'a Governmet Program' at the northern most part of the village.
"What we are seeing is they have just allotted a 40ft×30ft lot to bulid a housing camp on for each of the 76 families. And they will be fenced with barbed wire. That's more like internment camps" said an elderly villager.
The total area of land allotted by the Governmentt on Tuesday (Sept 18) is a ground area of just16 burnt houses. Now, the Government is said to be planning to squeeze 76 households with small internment-camps-like housing into that small area of land. The camps will be guarded, controlled and confined by the Myanmar Security Forces.
"The lot that the government is alloting is just for 76 families out of 200 families whose houses were burnt down last year. They haven't talked anything about over remaning 100 households who have also lost their homes. If we are forced to live in these internment camps like housing permanently, then we don't think we have any other ways left but to flee from the country." said a villager in a worrisome tone.
3pm 28/8/2017: #GutaPyin #Rohingya village in #Buthidaung has been set ablaze by #Myanmar military & #Rakhine extremists. https://t.co/p9jZHSwT2J— M. (@YoursRohingya) August 28, 2017
He added "first, they have burnt down our homes, made us homeless and displaced. Now, they are acting as if they are helping us by building houses for us. And they are treating us as though we have committed crimes for our homes were burnt down. For we have lost our homes in arson attacks which they carried out, they are building tiny houses for us on a tiny peice of land and coaxing and pushing us into the permanent internment camps.
"Then, they will confiscate our large home grounds, gardens and farmlands. Displaced people confined in internment camps get no freedom in life. If they give them food, they will eat. If not, they will starve. No self-sufficiency or right to do anything."

Maungdaw -- Fears among Rohingya grow as sources within the Myanmar authorities and the Rakhine Buddhist community are circulating rumors that there will be attacks and explosions in (the downtown of) Maungdaw soon.
Suspicious activities and unusual patrollings by the Myanmar troops in Maungdaw are turning the rumors into beliefs, locals say.
"On June 22 evening, locals heard gun-shots from the BGP (Border Guard Police) camp at the Bridge between the downtown of Maungdaw and Myothu Gyi village. On June 24 early morning, the deputy commander and other 30 troops from Battalion 551 patrolled at 'Quarter 5' and the village of 'Myoma Kayintan'. Later, they replaced the BGP at the camp nearby the Bridge between 'Myoma Kayintan' and 'Pantaw Pyin' villages.
Furthermore, BGP personnel from camps in Maungdaw are being transferred and replaced by new ones. Some other BGP are being replaced by the military and the military are increasingly being deployed in the region.
Meanwhile, the locals of 'Sein Nyein Pyar' village in Buthidaung also said that they heard sounds of explosions and gunshots from the forests to its West. However, they were unable to further verify the details.
"We are hearing reports of possible attacks and explosions in the downtown of Maungdaw from the authorities and the Rakhines. They (the authorities) are saying that they have got all the information about what's likely going to happen. At the same time, we are seeing some strangers roaming here in Maungdaw.
"Security forces have also been heavily deployed in Maungdaw. Amidst all these, if any violence takes place, we should say it will happen only because the authorities are allowing it happen" said a human rights activist based in Maungdaw.

ARSA (Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army), a Rohingya rebel group formed and appeared as a direct consequence of the State-led violence against Rohingya in 2012, launched attacks on several Myanmar police posts on August 25, 2017. Using that as pretext and under the banner of counter-insurgency operation, the Myanmar military launched a brutal campaign against the Rohingya population at large mass killing or summarily executing several thousands of civilians, burning down hundreds of villages and raping or gang-raping thousands of women and girls leading to a massive exodus of more 700,000 refugees into neighboring Bangladesh.
The situation in Maungdaw and Buthidaung has started calming down to a certain extent after two third of the Rohingya have been expelled to Bangladesh since last year. Now, reports of a possible violence is increasing panic among the Rohingyas in the region.

Cox's Bazaar, Bangladesh -- The Bangladesh Police arrested 3 Rohingya refugees in 'Ukhia' area on Monday (Jan 22) for reportedly trying to stage a protest, reports say.
The 3 refugee figureheads from 'Kutupalong camps' visited 'Zamtoli Camps' yesterday apparently to organize a protest against the forced repartriation of the refugees from Bangladesh to Burma (Myanmar).
"First, they were arrested and detained by the Bangladesh Army at around 11:30 am. After investigations, they were released in the afternoon.
"And at around 8 pm, the Ukhia Police arrested and detained them. They are still physically in safe condition in the Police custody but will be detained up to 7 days under the charges which we don't know", said an eyewitness at 'Zamtoli' Camps.
The 3 refugee figureheads are identified as: 1) Muhibullah s/o Fazal, 2) Ali Hussain s/o Rashid Ahmed and 3) Abdu Jaber s/o Kabir Ahmed.
We were unable to reach out to the Ukhia Police (through telephone) for further verifications and the latest information on the detainees.
More than 600,000 Rohingya refugees have fled to Bangladesh to escape from Genocide that the Burmese military and the Rakhine Buddhist extremists have unleashed in Arakan state, Burma, since August 25, 2017.
An overwhelming majority of them do not to be repatriated to Burma until and unless their ethnic status and citizenship are restored; the safety and securities for their lives are guaranteed; and other basic human rights are ensured through effective interferences of the UN and the international community.

Maungdaw -- Two suspicious people, who the authorities said, entered Maungdaw from Bangladesh last week and are plotting to carry out explosions in the township.
Following what's likely a rumor, the joint-forces of Burmese Military and Security Forces carried out surprise raids in 'Italia village and Bohmuu hamlet of Quarter 4' on Sunday (Jan 21). No suspicious people or materials were discovered in the raids.
At around 10:30pm on Sunday, at least 18-truck loads of the joint-forces were patrolling around the village of Shujah (Shwe Zar) in northern Maungdaw and afterwards, they continuosly carried out gun-fires and explosions that sounded like 'bomb explosions' at the Naff river-bank to the west of the village, according to a local's report.
The joint-forces conducted similar raids at Pantawpyin (Lal Boinna) village in southern Maungdaw today but no arrests were made. They searched in and around the Rohingya houses and checked the Family Members against the 'Family Registration List.'
"It is really a suspicious thing because the rumor-mongerers are government officials themselves. It's likely being done to intensify the situation during the time of a scheduled repartriation of the first batch of the Rohingya refugees from Bangladesh", said a local in Maungdaw.

Maungdaw -- The Myanmar Border Guard Police (BGP) has been chasing a Rohingya man for speaking to the UN Officials and the Foreign Diplomats during their visit to Maungdaw on Monday (Oct 2), sources say.
The UN Officials and the Diplomats visited the village of PanTawPyin (locally called Nol Boinna), one of a few Rohingya villages remained unburnt, in southern Maungdaw in two groups: one at around 12:30pm and another at 1pm. The authorities had the groups of diplomats meet with some villagers coerced and instructed in advance (by the authorities) as to what to say to them (i.e. the diplomats).
"The authorities had the groups of diplomats meet with the temporary in-charge of the village, Anwar, and his team who had been coerced before-hand to say good about the government like 'people at this village could live peacefully. The government looks after us. They always come and help us.' There was also no choice for them but to follow the government order as the authorities always tagged along with the diplomats. It was not an unfettered but planned and closely-watched trip for the diplomats," said a local villager to RB News.
While the diplimats were speaking to the villagers led by the village in-charge, a local Rohingya man speaking in English interuptted and explained the real situation of Rohingya on the ground. He vividly explained how the Burmese armed forces and the Rakhine extremists torched his house, too.
No sooner did the diplomats leave the village, the BGP have started an operation to hunt him down. But he knew he would be arrested for speaking to the diplomats. So, he fled the village before that, the villager added.
At around 5pm, the commander of 'Maggyi Chaung' BGP Camp sent 2 BGP personnel to bring the temporary in-charge of PanTawPyin village to the camp for investigations regarding that issue. Fearing of tortures and arrests, the village in-charge fled after giving impressions to the 2 policemen that he would follow them.
It has been learnt that the army lodged a report to their superior regarding the issue and commander in-charge of the region and he replied "the English speaking man have made allegations. He's a terrorist. Because of terrorists like him, the government's intugrity is affected."
Many villagers are now afraid to live in the village and attempting to flee to Bangladesh because of the raids being carried out and threats being posed by the BGP in regard to the English speaking Rohingya man who explained the real situation to the groups of diplomats.

Buthidaung -- Approximately 10 square-miles of
Rohingya villages have been razed, about 600 villagers killed and over 100,000 internally displaced in northern Buthidaung alone till date.
The Myanmar military along with the Rakhine
extremists have carried out large-scale arson attacks on multiples villages in
the region, staged chilling summary executions of civilians and unfolded untold
numbers of horrific atrocities since August 27.
Homes were looted; villages were burnt down; men
ranging from age 10 to 90 were indiscriminately attacked, shot dead, beheaded,
mutilated and after that, their bodies were systematically destroyed; women
were molested and raped; and unimaginable and harrowing atrocities were
committed.
Over 100,000 people internally displaced in northern Buthidaung are now ENTRAPPED and can flee to nowhere. They have been taking refuge in the mountains and nearby surviving villages to escape from being massacred. Without shelter and food for days now in this monsoon, there will be massive numbers of civilian deaths especially children unless humanitarian aids reach to them and their tragedies are addressed within a week.
The most villages in Buthidaung that have come under widespread and
indiscriminate arson attacks -- by the
Myanmar military after rebels from ARSA (Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army) attacked
over 2 dozens of Police posts and few military bases across Maungdaw,
Buthidaung and Rathedaung-- are located along the Mayu River in the northern part of the township. Some of the
villages almost entirely burnt down where villagers were massacred and massive
displacements occurred are:
The displaced people are unable to cross the mountains to make to Myanmar-Bangladesh
Border as there are groups of Myanmar armed forces and armed Rakhine extremists
waiting and hiding in the forest to ambush and kill them.

To,
International Organizations
Subject : To protect the innocent Rohingya villagers immediately from inhumane killing of Myanmar's Military and Border Guard Police forces
Respectfully,
(1) We are MYARF (Myanmar Youth Activists for Rohingya Freedom), a non-profit ground-based organization. Our organization was formed after the 2012's Rakhine Crisis. We have been sharing the accurate information to International Human Rights Organizations about the inhumane killings and Human Rights abuses of Myanmar's Armed Forces on Rohingya people. By digging up the truth, we on time have covered the real event of 2016's October 9th violence. Moreover, we have been keeping on the update information of daily abuses on Rohingyas in Northern Rakhine State.
(2) Since decades, we the Rohingyas living in Northern Rakhine State have been suffering the plight of persecution. Since 2012's violence, we have been suffering the intensive brutalities on each day. On the other hand, we almost Rohingyas were announced as stateless by Myanmar's government. Being the stateless and suffered unbearable persecution, Rohingyas has formed ARSA aiming to defense for themselves. Later on, there was attack between ARSA and Myanmar's Armed Forces in last 9th October, 2016. And the persecution on Rohingyas have counted as the most unbearable.
(3) On 24th of August, 2017, there was clash between ARSA and Myanmar's Armed Forces at night again. Then Myanmar's Armed Forces have been raiding across the Rohingya villages and shooting to the villagers whom they see. Yesterday within 24-hours, at least 100 innocent Rohingya villagers including children were shot to dead and 300 Rohingya houses were burnt down firing the launchers by Myanmar's Armed Forces. The account of home-leaving Rohingyas to nearby mountain could be thousands now. There in mountain, children are without food to eat and water to drink since yesterday. All are frantic now there in rain.
(4) It is known that Myanmar government releases the news viral as terrorists by killing innocent Rohingya old men, women and children. Thus, Rohingya villagers become so helpless now. Despite seeing no way to move anywhere, now Rohingyas are facing starving. Helplessly, we all Rohingya in Northern Rakhine State worry now for when we be killed.
(5) If the international organizations fail to protect us today, tomorrow the numbers of dead would be thousands. We therefore wholeheartedly appeal the international organizations to protect us immediately before the mass killing going on us.
It is the heartfelt appeal of those Rohingya minority whom you, the international organizations defined as the world's most persecuted.
Let's us hope for your saving hands immediately!

Maungdaw -- Rakhine media outlets are deliberately attempting to shift blames on the Rohingya people for the deaths of and missing Mro-Rakhine tribal men after an apparently drug-related incident in Southern Maungdaw on Thursday (Aug 3), reliable sources say.
Six dead bodies of ‘Mro-Rakhine’ men were found nearby their village in the forest 5 miles to the east of the ‘Natala-Rakhine’ village called 'Kaing Gyi' on Thursday morning, while two more people were reported to have been missing since then.
The news came to surface on Thursday afternoon and different media outlets are giving different times of the incident. But the exact time of the killings and the reason behind them are unknown yet.
Going by the reports from the southern Maungdaw earlier, a fighting between the Mro-Rakhine tribal men and the Natala-Rakhine men would have broken out over drug-trafficking issues, which led to the killings of six people and the disappearances of two more belonging to the former group.
"A month ago, there was an incident that some Mro-Rakhine tribal men robbed ‘Yaba tablets (WY)’ from the drug-trafficking gang of 'Kaing Gyi' village, while they were smuggling them across the mountain valleys. The Mro-Rakhine men refused to return the bags of Yaba tablets to the Natala-Rakhine despite the repeated demands by the latter.
“The tension between the two Rakhine groups has mounted since then because of that. Therefore, the Natala Rakhine gang who proudly call themselves to be members of the 969 Gang could have attacked them, killed six and abducted other two,” said Ko Myint Naing, a member of a Maungdaw-based Human Rights Observer and Research Group.
A Rakhine media called DMG, quoting the Commander of the Border Guard Police (BGP) Maj-Gen Thura San Lwin, wrote “it happened at around 9:00am. We couldn’t have confirmed the perpetrators behind the killings. The armed forces are doing ‘Region Clearance.’ We are also investigating into it.”
The ‘Myanmar State Counselor Information Committee’ reported that the armed forces acted and started clearance operation in the areas nearby the Mro-Rakhine village upon hearing gun-shots at around 10am. It followed up with reports that there were wounds, cuts and bruises found the bodies of the deceased contradicting its very own statement ‘upon hearing gun-shots’ made earlier. Without mentioning names or details of the perpetrators, it stated that they were extremist terrorists behind the killings indirectly attempting to shift blames on the Rohingya people.
U Khaing Mrat Kyaw -- a Rakhine extremist media man, a BBC Burmese reporter and editor in-chief of Narinjara Media – quoting a local Rakhine man named U Sein Hla Aung wrote that the Evil Kular Terrorists (indicating the Rohingya people) shot them to death at around 8:00am without providing evidences.
Looking at the conflicting reports regarding the Time of the incident and the attempts to shift the blame on the Rohingya people by the Rakhine media and the State Counselor Information Committee, it is pretty clear that the media are attempting to play ‘Diversion of Attention’ and trigger violence against the Rohingya people, the already victims of apartheid and genocide, out of a fight that could have taken place between two different Rakhine sub-groups (i.e. Mro-Rakhine and Natala-Rakhine) themselves.

The lies of the State Counsellor Office's Information Committee revealed significant
On 26 of June, 2017, Hafiz Mohamed Sadek, an Islamic student from Baggonna (Thet Oo Chaung), Sourthern Maungdaw was tortured to death by Border Guard Police. And it has been found that the State Counsellor Office released the news it was a normal death as heart-failure.
(The news released by State Counsellor Office;
(The denying letter to the State Counsellor Office by digging out the truth of Hafiz Mohamed Sadek's death--
These are the questions the State Counsellor Office should answer;
(1) The State Counsellor Office released "Hafiz Mohamed Sadek told he was suffering chest-indrawing and felt down from sitting. He was taken to Maungdaw hospital and died at night 11:15 pm during receiving the treatment. The deceased had been suffering heart-failure since the last ten years and died suddenly by heart-attack according to Doctor's testifying." So, the question is, why are there so many injuries throughout Mohamed Sadek's body if he dies by heart-attack? (The proof--- this is the dead body of Hafiz Mohamed Sadek)
(2) According to our investigation, Hafiz Mohamed Sadek was not a heart-patient. He was a strong healthy man. (See--- This is the picture of Hafiz Mohamed Sadek before he was arrested;
(3) How can you regard as a heart-patient to such a strong healthy man? Why was his family forced to sign up to certify that he is a heart-patient? Is not that well enough for you with Doctor's testifying? Is not that just to lie? Now, it is the time of the State Counsellor Office to answer;
(4) In fact, the two pieces of Hafiz Mohamed Sadek's bollocks were cut off, tortured brutally throughout his legs with rods, the two sides of his thighs were sliced down and so on the inhumane brutalities he had faced and was killed.
(5) It is the shame of the State Counsellor Office lying the truth of the event and protecting the criminal BGP who tortured to death an innocent civilian accusing illegally. Is the Ministry of State Counsellor Office only for lying to people?
(6) Regarding the issue, U Zaw Htay, the spokesman of the President Office also stands on the side of the State Counsellor Office's lying during the interview with VOA. It seems like a big drama of lying they all have been participating. Is not the country ruling just with lies?
In short, by the event the lies of the State Counsellor Office revealed so significant. Thus, we will keep our eagle-eyes looking to how the State Counsellor Office is going to take action to BGP who killed Hafiz Mohamed Sadek brutally.
This is to inform to the State Counsellor Office's responsible that all the photos, proofs and documents of the real event of killing an innocent person by BGP that the State Counsellor Office lying shamelessly, already sent to the relevant international Human Rights organizations.
