BRCA Strongly Condemns the Continuous Killing, Raping, Looting and Arresting of Innocent Rohingyas in South Maungdaw, Nothern Arakan (Rakhine) State 

Since 14th January 2014 to till today, more than 50 Rohingyas mostly women and children are brutally murdered, many women and young girls are being raped and more than 100 Rohingya including young girls under 10 years old and youth are missing after being raided by the security forces and Rakhine vigilantes in Kilaidong (Duchidaran) village, Maungdaw, Nothern Arakan State. Again on 17th January, the security forces raided another village, Gawdusaara and arrested innocent Rohingyas. Because the continuous brutal and merciless atrocities of security forces and Rakhine vigilantes, the Rohingyas in Maungdaw are in deep concern of their safety and future.

BRCA strongly condemns those atrocities committed by the security forces and Rakhine vigilantes and appeal to

Myanmar government: 

  • To immediately stop further arresting and raiding on Rohingyas and release the arrested Rohingyas including women and young children and provide safety and security to the Rohingyas.
  • To launch a full, fair and transparent investigation to these merciless atrocities on Rohingyas in Duchidaran village.

BRCA also appeals to Australian Government, United Nation, OIC and international community: 

  • To exert strong pressure on Myanmar government to provide full protection and security of Rohingyas.
  • To take serious action on those assailant security forces and Rakhine vigilantes who committed humanity crimes against Rohingyas.
  • To allow UN intervention for security and safety of Rohingyas in Arakan State.
